First design of my character (September 2016)

Artist typically do hundreds and sometimes thousands of sketches/ drawings before they are satisfied with the design of their character. You may have a nice character design that your happy with but over time the appeal for the design might change. Main characters go through a much longer process to create the design as they are the main characters of a story, if there design is not appealing  not many people will care about the story.

Character designs may change over time as a result of things we see through out the day, we all follow artist and watch TV, and these things inspire us to make new characters or add to the ones we have all ready made.

A characters design can show their personality. For example, what the character wears, their hair style, or their body type. A way to create an effective character design is to just start sketching if you have an idea just make a note of it. Once you get the first idea out of the way you can think of other even better ideas, even ideas that seem like they don't work. Color schemes are very important in characters design, you can have a really nice character design but a horrible color scheme. Contrasting colors are very good at making the character stand out, for example blue and orange, purple and yellow, and it is better to not use highly saturated colors. Skin tones are important also, for example if you made a character with really dark hair and you have a dark skin tone to go with it, it will just blend in lighter skin tones will make the character stand out more, same for light hair a slightly darker skin tone will make it pop.

Another redesign of my character, and the final redesign as i am finally happy with the look of the character and confedently draw her. Her colour schemes has a very technological feet to it, with the turquoise combined with the purple.
