The golden ratio-
Is a mathmatical ratio found mostly in nature, usally the goldern ratio is shown as a large rectangle made with a small square and a smaller rectangle, the unique thing about this is it can be repeted indenfintly. In art it is a mystry why the human eye finds art made with rectangles are so appealing,
the different pointa across the rectangles are to show key points in the painting.
The swirl style goldern ratio is used to draw a path that the eye can follow. Like in the image below it shows a monster and a man fighting it, the swirl ends with the monsters head and curls towards the monsters hand, the lines show the angle of the mans sight. Basically the golden ratio draws the eye to certain key points in the picture and it helps show some proportion and perspective the piece as well.
