This a very basic animation created from story bored. It was my original FMP idea that I was going to animate, but I decided to do group project with a friend.
The original idea for the animation to make another short animation about the two characters in my curiosity project but years later.
Synopsis:
The story, Lynn and his twin sister Kayla are sitting at a cafe after school with Kayla enjoying a book and Lynn being very bored. Suddenly a portal opens and a huge monster cat appears and the twins get spooked, but before the cat could attack Zoterra comes in flying and kicks the cat in the face and then lands in a super hero pose. Both Lynn and Zo notice each other however Lynn is dragged away by his sister before he could do anything, the fire cat attacks by shooting fire from his mouth but Zo quickly teleports behind him and grabs his tail, and process to throw the cat around. Meanwhile Lynn and Kayla are hiding behind a wall, Lynn looks around the corner with a very concerned look on his face.
Zo is about to attack the cat one final time until she stops to find Lynn giving the cat a hug.The cat then shrinks into Lynn's arms and Lynn turns to face Zo and gives her a hug too.
This was the original story bored that was done of paper, in photoshop I separated the frames and drew over them to add more detail in the frames. I also added more frames in between to help it flow better.
Concept art
This was a test background to see what style I wanted to work with. I did this background using no line art, I'm over all very happy with this illustration but I prefer adding line art as it takes lest time.
This was a small illustration done of the two make character of the animation.
Above is concept art fro a comic cover and I made this piece in the program Clip Studio Paint. I am really happy with the lighting affect in the eyes and in the lantern, that along with the dark colours surrounding the light helps to create a great contrast.
This illustration was done a few years ago while I was looking at another piece for inspiration. I wasn't as confident with the line art of the piece however considering what I had to work with at the time it is okay.
